2022 Elections: Minister calls on youth for exemplary conduct

Huambo – Angolan minister of Youth and Sports Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto has urged the young people to display a positive and exemplary attitude during the general elections scheduled for 24 August.

The official was speaking during a meeting with the leaders of associations and youth and sports organisations on Monday in central Huambo province, as part of a two-day visit to the region.

She said that the general elections are a historic and very challenging moment for the Angolan people, hence the need for the engagement of young people for the election to have the desired success.

According to the minister, young people are called upon to play their role, as agents of social transformation, through an action that can promote a favourable environment for the polls, avoiding behaviours that may undermine the climate of peace and harmony.

“We want to have disciplined young people, committed to the country and mobilised for this patriotic duty, participating in a massive and orderly manner in the general elections of 24 August next,” urged the minister.

For this reason, Minister Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto distributed, to those present at the meeting, the booklet of an exemplary youth, with 30 principles, in the perspective of being read, assimilated and practiced inside and outside the community.
