90 infringements reported at Angola/DRC border

Mbanza Kongo – The National Police have reported 90 offenses on border between the northern Zaire province (Angola) and Central Congo region in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in the last seven days.

The data are contained in a report reached Angop Monday, less two cases compared to the previous period.

The offenses consisted of illegal immigration, with 79 cases, fuel smuggling (9) and tax evasion (2).

At least 408 citizens from DRC have been detained for attempting to enter the country illegally as well as 18, 172 liters of fuel seized as the result of operation.

Zaire province shares 330 kilometers of border with the region of Central Congo (DRC).
