Afrobasket: Female team intensify work

Luanda – The correction of offensive actions and consolidation of defensive moves marked last Monday’s training session of Angola’s national female basketball team, as part of the preparation for their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afrobasket2017) set for 18-27 August, this year, in Bamako, Mali.

In two hours of training session, held in the Kilamba multi-purpose pavilion, in Luanda, the national female squad focussed on ball circulation and transition from defence to the attack, among other aspects.

The coach, Jaime CovilhAPound , demanded better retention of the ball and closer pressure over the opponent in possession of the ball.

In the end of the session, the skipper of the squad, Nguendula Filipe, said the players are very much motivated for the upcoming challenge and the works are taking place in the desired manner.

We’ll continue to fulfil the demands of the technical team so that we can have better perspectives on the achievement of our goals, which includes reaching the podium, she explained.
