ANGOLA: AGRICULTURE PLAYS KEY ROLE FOR COUNTRY’S DEVELOPMENT

The agriculture sector as basis for the development of the country and a decisive factor in the diversification of the economy was analyzed Thursday in Luanda, in the seventh edition of the family dialogue, promoted by Agostinho Neto Foundation.

This was said by the lecturer Fernando Pacheco who made a diagnosis of the agricultural sector in the country, highlighting the phosphate production and soil improvement, seeds and vaccines and the development of a mechanization policy as simple and structuring projects that can help change the current situation.

The funding for agriculture, scientific research, food production and land were also discussed by the participants.

Referring the situation of agriculture in Angola and continent, the chairperson of the Agostinho Neto Foundation, Maria Eugenia Neto, stressed that the lack of conservation infrastructure and transport is among the causes of waste of agricultural production.
