Angola assumes presidency of CPLP regulators

Luanda – Angola assumed last Friday the rotating presidency of the Association of Communications and Telecommunications Regulators of the Community of Portuguese-speaking countries (ARCTEL), for a period of two years.

The election was made at the Assembly of the organization, which coincided with the holding, in Luanda, of the 11th ARCTEL Forum, whose work ended last Friday.

The chairman of the board of directors of the Angolan Institute of Communication (INACOM), Leonel Augusto, becomes chairman of the association.

The association of regulators has the challenges of maintaining a balance between prices and services provided.

“Quality services at affordable prices, the sharing of infrastructures, the strengthening of digital literacy, such as roaming at CPLP, are among the priorities”, said the manager.

Organized by INACOM, in partnership with ARCTEL, the eleventh CPLP communications forum happened in two days, to share experiences between regulators, operators, universities and civil society.
