Angola at 10th OPEC ministerial committee meeting

Luanda – Angola will attend 10th Ministerial Committee Session of a joint cooperation mechanism between members of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and Non-OPEC, set for Monday (23rd September) in Algeria.

The Angolan delegation will be led by State Secretary for Oil, Paulino Geronimo, to the event aimed at assessing the implementation of the meeting held last June in Vienna, Austria.

Angola has daily production quota of 1.6 million barrels of oil, according to a decision emerged from its (OPEC) last meeting.

In turn, Angola pledged to reach the above quota by December, with the entry into production of the new fields.

The natural drop in the production of some oilfields in recent times hindered the country to reach its quota, with daily production reaching around 1.5 million barrels.

Furthermore, the Angolan delegation will review the bilateral cooperation between Angola and Algeria, in the field of Oil and Geology and Mining, with focus on training.
