Angola, China trade surpasses USD 26 billion

Luanda – The volume of business between Angola and China surpassed USD 26 billion in 2018, however, the Chinese giant foresees an increase in the coming period, taking into account the intensity of the bilateral relations between the two nations.

The information was disclosed on Friday in Luanda by the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Cui Aimim, at the end of a meeting with Angolan National Assembly speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.

According to the Chinese diplomat, the bilateral cooperation is increasing daily, especially in the parliamentary sector, which both nations hold frequent contacts.

Angola is China’s main economic partner in Africa and during the last few years the trade between the two countries has speeded up enough, although it is still too focused on oil.

Meanwhile, said the Chinese diplomat, whose term finished, the trend in the coming period is to diversify the trade, with special attention to be paid to agricultural products.
