The “Final Assault” campaign against yellow fever which was to have ended on Tuesday has been extended until this Friday to enable all residents of the capital, Luanda, to be vaccinated against the disease.

A Luanda Province government official said Tuesday that the health authorities would continue with the vaccination drive on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to cover those Luanda residents who had been left out.

Health Fairs would be held in some Luanda municipalities on the above days.

The Final Assault Campaign against yellow fever was launched on July 15, during a ceremony presided over by Luanda Governor Higino Carneiro.

At least 400,000 people who were not vaccinated in the campaign up to Tuesday are expected to be vaccinated by this Friday.
