Angola: Government to Rehouse Over 900 Families of Kamazingo
Lubango – At least 900 families living precariously in Lubango, southern Huila province, beginning this year to be moved to safer areas, announced on Wednesday by the local administrator, Francisco Barros Leonardo.
Speaking to reporters after the visit of governor Marcelino Tyipinge to that risk area which is between the commercial wards of Lucrezia and Laje, the administrator said that this action is to safeguard public health, as well as clear Lubango Avenue in marginal Rio Mukufi .
The official said that initially it will be rehoused 495 families, who after a process of cataloging, were prioritized because they are at the most critical zones.
“We were told by the provincial government to create conditions of allotment of new spaces to accommodate these people”, he said.
“This process will start very soon and we are working with other related structures such as the Provincial Directorate of Urban Planning”, he continued.
