ANGOLA HAS ENOUGH ENERGY TO BOOST INDUSTRY – OFFICIAL

The State Secretary for Energy Joaquim Ventura said Thursday in Cambambe, northern Cuwanza Norte province, that the country has enough energy conditions to boost industrial activity without restrictions.

The official assured so to the press during a ceremony that marked the start of the first hydroelectric power plant turbine located in Cambambe municipality.

Joaquim Ventura acknowledged that at this time the Angolans have just gained a large achievement.

According to him, this gain will not only strengthen the domestic energy consumption but also boost the country’s industrialisation.

He stressed that the investment will cover all provinces connected to the transportation network from Cambambe Hydroelectric Power Station.

By December, the four turbines will generate 700 megawatts adding to 260 MW of the first Central.

This will bring to 960 megawatts of electricity to be generated.
