ANGOLA IMPLEMENTING LOGISTICS CHAIN MANAGEMENT IN CO-OPERATION WITH CHINA

The Angolan government has implemented a model of logistics chain management, control and co-ordination in co-operation with China to rationalize costs, time and movement.

Minister of Transport Augusto Tomas, who disclosed this to the media at the end of a meeting with representatives of Chinese companies operating in Angola here Thursday, said the implementation of the logistics chain management model took into account the expansion of the national territory and formed part of the economic co-operation between the two countries.

He added that the meeting with the representatives of the Chinese companies was to convey the basis of that model of organization and control in logistics so as to establish a control system of door-to-door movement of equipment and materials coming into the country.

The Minister said the model adopted would allow for the inter-action of the major carriers in order to reduce operating costs in shipping goods to the country.
