Angola: Justice Ministry promotes seminar on Human Rights

Luanda – The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights is holding this Wednesday in Luanda a Seminar on Human Rights and Sustainable Development Goals, according to a press release from that body that reached Angop on Tuesday.

According to the document, the event aims at disseminating the Sustainable Development Goals, Reinforcement of Angola’s commitments to Sustainable Development and Human Rights, as well as promoting education for a culture of Human Rights.

The meeting, set to start at 8:30 a.m. in the Auditorium of the National Statistical Institute (INE), is debating and considering topics such as “The sustainable development goals – The vision of the United Nations”, “The Human Rights Transversal Aspect in the Sustainable Development Goals in Angola” and “The Goal 16: Peace, Access to Justice and Effective Institutions”.

The event, whose opening act will be presided over by Antonio Bento Bembe, the Secretary of State for Human Rights, counts on the support of the United Nations Development Fund (UNDP) and aims at promoting the Culture of Human Rights.

The UNDP representative in Angola, Henrik Larsen, is expected to take part in the event.
