ANGOLA: MINISTER CONSIDERS APPROPRIATE BANKING FORUM FOR PRESENT TIME

Minister of Finance, Armando Manuel has said that the VI Banking Forum comes at a right time for the present time the country is experiencing as a result of the low oil price in the international market.

The Government official made this consideration at the forum’s opening speech which runs on the motto “Compliance in Angola”, stressing the need for national financial institutions to have basic knowledge of national and international law and the field of practices and compliance programs to prevent and detect illegal conduct.

“We must move forward and identify any weaknesses, irregularities or non-conformities that our institutions and regulators are facing internationally for the high performance standards,” he added.

He stressed that to achieve this exciting goal, the professionals of national banks must hold deep knowledge on foreign laws.
