Angola: Minister Highlights Information Technologies Benefits in Social Inclusion

Luanda – Angola minister of Science and Technology Maria CAndida Teixeira said Thursday in Luanda that the Technologies of Information and Communication (TIC) contribute to the increasing of young people’s interest in classes and raises the social inclusion rates.

The official was speaking at the opening of IV Forum on “Girls and TIC”, adding that the application of the new technologies has great impact on the development of people, particularly young women.

The increase of interest in attending classes help reduce early school dropout and raise the inclusion rates, she noted.

The minister said that the TIC are crucial to the competitiveness of organisations in a globalised world and creation of the information society.

The official stressed that these principles are in accordance with the Angolan government commitment to disseminate the TIC.

The minister welcomed the forum taking place ahead of International Day of Girls and TIC in order to ensure particular attention to this class of society.
