Angola, Namibia step up anti-malaria strategy at border

Ondjiva- Angola and neighbouring Namibia have discussed the strategies for strengthening actions to fight against malaria along the border of the two countries.

This was during a meeting that gathered The Trans-Kunene Cross-border Malaria Initiative (TKMI) Organisation and its Namibian counterpart on Saturday in Cunene province.

Speaking to Angop, the coordinator of TKMI, Emilia Wime,

said that the two sides had decided to intensify and harmonise actions to combat and prevent malaria along the border.

Wime announced the organisation’s plan to conduct malaria testing and population awareness campaigns on 5-12 November, as part of SADC Malaria Week aimed at eliminating the disease by 2020.
