Angola needs to increase investment in tourism training

Luanda – The country needs to increase funding to improve and increase the educational offer of teaching and training institutions in hospitality and tourism, said today the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Eugenio da Silva.

The increase in funding for hotel and tourism training, according to Eugenio da Silva, is justified as an important sector for the development of the national economy.

Speaking to Angop, on the sidelines of the opening of the fair of education and training institutions in hotel and tourism, made in reference to the World Tourism Day, to be marked on the 27th September, underlined that with these actions the country will have more teachning institutions, equipment and infrastructures.

The Secretary of State understands that the main challenges to develop the sector are the training of professionals with an adequate profile, capable of performing well.

To that end, he continued, there must be a link between theory and practice during training.

According to the official, for the connection, the management bodies of the institutions themselves should establish partnerships with tour operators or hoteliers that open the doors and allow students to have contact with this work context, to familiarize themselves and to acquire the skills to have a mastery of the practice necessary for their future and professional performance.
