Luanda – A bill that outlines the principles and procedures to follow in land plots expropriation processes, for public interest, last Wednesday was approved by the Cabinet Council and soon will be submitted to the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament).
The Expropriation Bill is intended to contribute to a better urban organisation of the country.
Speaking to the press, in the end of the Fourth Ordinary Session of the Cabinet Council, the co-ordinator of the Technical Group for Expropriations and Resettlement, Florbela Rocha AraAjo, appealed to the citizens to stop making illegal occupation of land plots and building in risky areas, reminding that such act is liable to penalisation.
The Technical Group for Expropriations and Resettlement comprises the Ministries of Urbanisation and Housing, Justice, and Territory Administration, as well as the Provincial Government of Luanda, the Secretariat of the Cabinet Council, and the Office for Urban Uplift and Restructuration.
