Angola participates in council of the OEACP Politics

Luanda – The minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, has travelled to Brussels, where he will represent Angola at the 115th session of the council of ministers of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS).

The meeting, to be held from the 27 to the 29 of this month, will focus on the preparation of the 10th summit of the organization, to be held from the 6 to 10 December, in Luanda, as well as the 45th session of the Council of Ministers of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) and European Union (EU).

The Angolan delegation is integrated by the director for Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Júlio Maiato, and by the coordinator for the preparation of the 10th OACPS Summit, José Guerreiro Alves Primo.

Despite having historical partnership relations with the European Union, the OACPS intends to transform itself into a strong institution capable of working in solidarity to improve the living conditions of the peoples of the 79 member nations.

It also foresees the enlargement of its relations with other strategic partners as well as strengthening cooperation among member states.

The OACPS Secretary-General is the Angolan Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti, and he is the first Angolan to hold such a position.
