Angola: Peace Day Commemorative Activities Open in Matala

Matala – The commemorative activities of the 14 years of Peace and National Reconciliation to be marked on April 04 were opened on Saturday in Matala municipality, southern Huila province, by the head of the general office of the local administration, LA�cia Ngueve, in representation of the municipal administrator Miguel Vicente.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, LA�cia Ngueve said the celebrations of April 04 in the municipality will be marked by political, cultural, sports and recreational activities, which will count on the participation of all public and private institutions and the general population, aiming to stress the achievements of the 14 years peace.

According to her, during the month of April, it will be organized lectures and radio debates on the achievements of the peace and the political trajectory of the country to the achievement of peace in 2002, and there will be tree planting and visits campaigns to social works underway the city.

She added that the municipal health department will hold a health fair, as well as visits to public and private institutions in order to check their functioning.

The Micosse commune, located 25 kilometers east of the municipal chief town, will host the municipal act to celebrate the Peace Day.
