Angola reaffirms fight against money laundering and terror

Luanda – The secretary of State for Justice, Orlando Fernandes, reaffirmed on Wednesday, in Luanda, the commitment of Angola to the prevention and fight against money laundering, financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Orlando Fernandes was speaking at a press conference about the proposal of measures to reinforce the identification of Effective Beneficiaries (EBs), in the ambit of measures against money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

He informed that the Angolan Executive has been adopting administrative and technological measures in the ambit of the prevention against terrorism, further stressing the need for the state to secure transparency in commercial relations, good governance, curb the trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances.

The secretary of State emphasised that Angola encourages the fight against trans-border organised crime, with a view to reinforcing the trust of economic agents and improve the doing business environment in the country.
