Angola receives over 1,000 cattle from Chad

Luanda – More than 1,000 cattle arrived in Luanda on Sunday from Chad as part of Restocking Programme for Camabatela Plateau, northern Cuanza Norte province.

The Restocking programme will also cover the northern provinces of Malanje and Uige.

It is the first batch of 75,000 cattle planned to arrive in the country in the coming eight years, said the Chadian consul in Angola, Mahamat Saleh.

In turn, the General Director of Veterinary Services Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest, Ditutala Simão, put at 4,500 the number of animals expected until the end of this month, in four shipments.

Angolan Government plans to make until 2025 Camabatela Plateau self sufficient on cattle breeding and large-scale meat production.
