Angola: SADC Inspectors prepare standards for operational procedures

Luanda – The Troika of the Southern African Development Community Defense Inspectors Working Group (DWG-SADC) is holding since Tuesday a meeting in Luanda to, among other issues, elaborate the standards of operational procedures and the inspection manual.

According to the National Defense Inspector General, Marcos Correia “Banza”, in the opening of the event, these documents will be submitted for approval at the 13th annual general meeting, to be held in February 2019 at the Republic of Angola.

However, the Angolan official called for a special attention to be paid to the agenda of activities approved in the last annual meeting held in Namibia, with stress to the training of trainees and inspection to the exercise of the command post to take place in Malawi.

He also explained that the training will enable inspectors to act with same dynamism in the defense of the peoples’ interest and strengthening of the armed forces of the SADC member countries for the solidification of the southern Africa region.

In his turn, the Namibia inspector general of defense, A.N. Nambau, pointed out the strengthening of the military inspection mechanism at SADC as being one of his country’s term main challenges.

The meeting is being attended by Angola, Namibia and Mozambique.
