Angola to have economic data central

Luanda – Angola will have a National Synthesis Data Page (NSDP), also dubbed Economic Data Central, as from November this year to improve the country’s official macroeconomic information publication.

The Economic Data Central, to be made available to the public at the end of the month of November, will enable users to have access to macroeconomic data on Angola trough the Finance Ministry’s online portal (www.minfin.gov.ao) and the IMF Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board.

For the accomplishment of this goal , an IMF technical assistance mission jointly with African Development Bank (AfDB) worked in Luanda on 19-28 September this year, with a view to assisting the Angolan authorities to adopt the Enhanced General Data Dissemination System (e-GDDS).

The publication of the main macroeconomic data through NSDP will also facilitate the political decision-makers, investors, rating agencies and national and international interested people to have access to information that the IMF Executive Council identifies as being crucial for the monitoring of the financial economic conjuncture of the country.

The goal is to turn the economic data available to everybody through a scheduled publication to enable users to have simultaneous access to updated data and bring more transparency to that information and reduce the costs of the country in the communication of the data to other organs.
