ANGOLA TO SET UP EXPORT PROMOTION AGENCY

Angola will set up a new agency for the promotion of exports and increase revenue collection for the country, according to the new Secretary of State for External Trade, Francisco Jose Aleixo Fernandes.

Speaking to journalists after being sworn in as Secretary of State for External Trade by President Jose Eduardo dos Santos here Thursday, he said the training of staff and drafting of regulations of the external trade sector for exports would be among his priorities.

The official expressed commitment to working with the Trade Minister to draw up medium and long-term strategies to secure support and opportunities for the private sector to boost exports.

Also sworn in on Thursday were Secretaries of State for Agriculture for the Agricultural Business Sector, Carlos Alberto Jaime Pinto, and for Social Welfare, LA�cio Goncalves do Amaral.
