Angola: Tourism Contribute to Diversification of Economy

Luanda – The development of tourism in Angola can contribute to the diversification of the economy by promoting packages assigned to airlines.

This was said Thursday in Luanda by the official of Brussels Airlines, Pierre Declerck.

Speaking to Angop, the delegate of Brussels Airlines said the Ministries of Interior and Hotel and Tourism should work together on preparation of tourist packages and improvement of visa policies.

According to him, many people who are interested in visiting cultural and historical interest sites of Angola face many restriction to get visas due to demand and requirements involved, making the process too much bureaucratic.

Pierre Declerck said that the project may be implemented in partnership with Angolan Airline (TAAG).

He said that the intention is to boost the income to the company on code-share Luanda/Brussels vice-versa.

Brussels Airlines has been operating to Angola about 14 years, with three frequencies a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays).

The company took over from “Sabena” in February 2002
