ANGOLAN CULTURE MINISTER LMAKES THREE-DAY VISIT TO ALGERIA

LUANDA, Angolan Culture Minister Carolina Cerqueira left here Monday for a three-day working visit to Algeria aimed at strengthening cultural co-operation between the two countries.

The emphasis during the visit will be on cultural artistic training, exchange programmes and sharing of experience between Angola and Algeria, according to a statement issued here.

The Minister, who is making the visit at the invitation of Algerian Ambassador to Angola Larbi Latrach, will also learn about aspects related to the relaunch and stimulation of cultural co-operation, the Algerian cultural reality of this Maghreb nation, which has historical ties of friendship and co-operation with Angola.

Last February, during a meeting with Latrach, the Minister had highlighted the need for training in the areas of history, museology, anthropology, plastic arts, music and the exchange of experiences and exchanges in areas such as folklore.

In turn, Latrach expressed the readiness of Algeria to contribute to the development of these subjects, in accordance with the needs of Angola.
