ANGOLAN DEFENCE MINISTER DELIVERS MESSAGE FROM HIS PRESIDENT TO ZAMBIA’S PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU

LUANDA, Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos has sent a message to his Zambian counterpart, President Edgar Lungu, which was delivered Tuesday by Angola’s Minister of National Defence, JoAPound o Lourenco, during a brief visit to Lusaka.

According to a media statement issued by the Ministry of National Defence here, JoAPound o Lourenco made a visit lasting a few hours Zambia, accompanied by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Manuel Augusto.

Angola and Zambia, its eastern neighbour, have excellent co-operation relations within the bilateral framework and at the level of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), covering the sectors of diplomacy, defence and security, trade, transport, education, health, agriculture, trade, geology and mining and oil, among others.

The two countries also co-operate within the framework of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), a platform aimed primarily at resolving conflicts in this sub-region of the continent.
