Angolan Gicasso wins silver medal
Luanda – The Angolan Gicasso won the silver medal in the 100 meters race for visually impaired athletes (class T11), recording 12.87sec of the Adapted World Athletics Championship, taking place in London, England.
The Angolan athlete initially finished third behind the Brazilian Santos Jhulia, who was then disqualified by the organizers because of anti-sports behavior, which allowed Gicasso to win the silver medal.
The series was won by the Chinese athlete Zhou Guohua with 12.16.
That is the second medal for the Angolan athlete after winning the bronze medal in the 200m.
Angola will compete for the last time on Thursday at 200m with Jose Chamoleia for class T11.
