Angolan Head of State returns to Luanda

Luanda – Angolan president JoAPound o Lourenco returned Friday to Luanda after a two-day state visit to China aimed at re-launching cooperation between the two countries.

Accompanied by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenco, the Angolan statesman was welcomed at Luanda’s International Airport by the Vice President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa.

Other figures like National Assembly Speaker Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, Luanda governor Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, and members of the President’s Office, were also among the delegation that received the President of Republic.

In China, the second largest economy in the world – after the US -, JoAPound o Lourenco took part, along with his counterpart Xi Jinping, in the official talks between the delegations of the two countries.

The countries signed several legal instruments of cooperation, with stress to the Agreement on USD 2 billion Facilitation for Angola.

During his stay in China, JoAPound o Loureenco held meetings with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang, and Li Zhanshu, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the Republic of China.

China’s funding to Angola stands at about USD 23 billion, since 2002.
