ANGOLAN PRESIDENT IN CHINA FOR 7TH FOCAC SUMMIT

BEIJING — Angola’s President JoAPound o Lourenco has arrived in Beijing to attend the 7th Summit of the Forum of China-Africa Co-operation (FOCAC) being held in the Chinese capital on Monday and Tuesday.

President Lourenco, who assumed office in September last year, will be participating a FOCAC summit for the first time.

While in Beijing, in addition to participating in the forum, President Lourenco is scheduled to have a meeting with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, according to the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign Affairs Minister Manuel Augusto and Finance Minister Archer Mangueira are accompanying the Angolan Head of State on the visit to China.

FOCAC is a platform for consultations and collective dialogue aimed at strengthening consensus, deepening friendly relations, and intensifying and promoting co-operation.
