ANGOLAN PRESIDENT RETURNS TO LUANDA AFTER VISIT TO MOXICO PROVINCE

Angola’s President Jose Eduardo dos Santos returned to Luanda Wednesday after a visit to the eastern province of Moxico where he had chaired a joint meeting of Angola’s Economic Commission and the Cabinet Council’s Commission for the Real Economy earlier in the day.

The president was met on arrival at Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro International Airport here by the Governor of Luanda Province, Higino Carneiro, government officials and senior officials of the Presidency.

In Luena, the Moxico provincial capital, President Eduardo dos Santos had a busy programme which included a meeting at Monumento a Paz touristic complex focused on issues related to energy, water, construction of agricultural infrastructure projects as well as the implementation of the country’s fishing industry.

The president also visited an agricultural exposition and presented agricultural inputs to farmers’ associations and co-operatives.

President Eduardo dos Santos also presented tractors, ploughs, TV sets, tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches and freezers to tribal chiefs and church authorities.
