ANGOLAN SECRETARY OF STATE ATTENDING SADC FOREIGN MINISTERS MEETING IN GABORONE
LUANDA Angolan Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Manuel Augusto has left for Gaborone, Botswana, to attemd a meeting of foreign ministers of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement here that the meeting, which began Wednesday was being held to discuss the potential candidates for the post of Chairperson of the Africa Union (AU) Commission, as the current chairperson, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma of South Africa, has her expressed wish to step down.
Augusto is representing Angolan Foreign Minister Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti at the meeting. Vjikoti is currently in New York, chairing the UN Security Council session.
Angola is holding the rotating presidency of the Security Council in March
