ANGOLAN TEAM RETURNS FROM TICAD MINISTERIAL PREPARATORY MEETING IN BANJUL
An Angolan delegation has returned here from Banjul, the Gambia, after participating in a preparatory ministerial meeting for the Sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement here Monday that the Angolan delegation to the June 17-18 meeting was led by the Director of the Asia and Oceania department in the Ministry, Samuel Andrade da Cunha, representing Foreign Minister Georges Chikoti.
The opening session was chaired by Ajaratou Saidy, the Vice-President of the Islamic Republic of The Gambia and Minister of Women’s Affairs.
The meeting discussed a number of reports on the implementation of the TICAD Action Plan for 2013-2017 and the Nairobi Declaration and the documents will be presented to the Meeting of Heads of State and Government, scheduled for Aug 27 and 28 this year, in Kenya.
The closing session was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Gambia, Neneh MacDouall-Gaye.
