Angolan writer taking part in poetic event in SAPound o Paulo

Luanda – The Angolan writer and poetess Ngonguita Diogo is since Thursday representing the country in a poetic event dubbed ConexAPound o Poetica taking place in SAPound o Paulo, Brazil.

The event taking place under the auspice of the SESC, a Platform for African Culture Promotion in Brazil, is aimed at congregating African artists dwelling in this Latin American country and others from other countries of Africa so as to spread and rescue the ancestral Afro-Brazilian culture as well as the affirmation of black art production.

According to the writer’s press officer, it is a privilege for Ngonguita Diogo to represent Angola in this event, taking into account her cultural trajectory recognition by the Letters Academy of Brazil, in which she is part of.

Ngonguita Diogo is the literaryn name of Etelvina da ConceicAPound o Alfredo Diogo, born in northern Cuanza Norte, she has six books published and a CD of poems.

She was the only African writer to represent the continent in the 13 th meeting of Women Writers in SAPound o Jose do Rio Preto/Brazil in 2015.

Ngonguita Diogo is also member of the African League of Lev’Arte Mouvement of Brazil Letters Academy, partnership with Brazil/Angola Cultural Centre and also has a Honoris Causa doctorate since 2016.
