ANPG launches tender for oil exploration in Namibe, Benguela

These are the first 10 areas out of a minimum of 55 to be tendered under the 2019-2025 Bidding Strategy, approved by the head of Executive.

The tender takes place after a roadshow (technical presentation of the referred blocks) held in September in the cities of Luanda, Dubai, Houston and London.

The period to submit the proposals runs until 12 November.

Concessions will be awarded on 17 January 2020 and contracts will be negotiated by 27 March. Finally, on 30 April the contracts will be signed.

The process began last June, with the pre-announcement of the contest, and continued later with the holding of an international road show, which began on September 3 in Luanda.

The international presentation of these oil bids received the attention of the world’s largest operators, namely Total, Chevron, ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, and Qatar Petroleum.

Natacha Massano, ANPG’s executive manager, said the international presentation of the bidding process went smoothly, adding that the process met the expectations of the Agency.
