Banks stability depends on professional rigour

Malanje – National Reserve Bank (BNA) director, Beatriz dos Santos, last Wednesday in the northern Malanje Province said that the stability of Central Banks in Portuguese speaking countries depends on the rigour and competence of cadres.

Speaking at the opening of the 17th Meeting of Human Resources Cadres of Central Banks of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (BCCPLP), taking place in Malanje, Beatriz dos Santos said that the present macroeconomic context opens a new cycle of debates about the role of human capital.

Considering the specificity of their activities, she said, central banks must have diversified and competent cadres, so that they can better respond to the challenges posed by the management of monetary and exchange policies, as well as the financial stability of the countries.

The technician went on to explain that one of the main challenges facing central banks is to respond with efficiency, rigour and responsibility the demands of the market and society in general, especially in this new era of constant digital transformation.

The meeting is being attended by representatives from Angola, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, SAPound o Tome and Principe, Portugal and East Timor.

The event is scheduled to end this Thursday.
