Basketball: Angola face Côte d’Ivoire Friday

Luanda- The Angolan senior males National Basketball Team will play Côte d’Ivoire on Friday evening, in Abidjan, in the ambit of the third stage that qualifies the teams for the 2023 World Cup.

The match, to be played at the Sports Arena of Treichville in the economic capital city of the Ivory Coast, counts for the first round of this stage.

Both teams that are in group C and had already faced each other in the first stage (Angola lost 56-57) of the competition that qualifies for the World Cup that will take place in Indonesia, Philippines and Japan.

The country counts on the players Leonel Paulo, Gerson Gonçalves, Childe Dundão, Gilson Bango, Gerson Domingos, Teotónio Dó, Sadrack Ganga, Dimitry Maconda, João Fernandes, Gilson Martins, António Monteiro, Jerônimo Luís and Keneth Manuel for this world championship undertaking.

The two teams have faced each other nine times so far. Angola have six wins against three of the Ivorians.

Meanwhile, still on Friday, for the same group it is scheduled the game between CAR and Guinea, at 5 pm.
