Basketball: Referees threaten to stop activity

Luanda – The National senior male Basketball Tournament might stop from this Tuesday, as the referees threaten to suspend activities due to the non-payment of debt by clubs.

The Luanda clubs, namely 1� de Agosto, Petro de Luanda, Interclube and Marinha de Guerra, decided to pay the debt that the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB) has with the referees, valued at over 11 million kwanzas, but until now was not fulfilled.

According to a note from the National Association of Basketball Referees of Angola that ANGOP had access, due to this non-compliance, the referees after last Friday meeting, concluded to stop the works until the situation is resolved.

On the other hand, the note states that for this season, was decided that the payments should be done every Tuesdays of the week following the dispute of the double round.
