BNA announces measure to reduce foreign currency transaction fees

Luanda – Angola’s National Reserve Bank (BNA) will reduce on the whole the fees and commissions currently levied for all transactions in foreign currency in 60-day deadline, the BNA governor, Jose Lima de Massano has announced.

The decision stemmed from the Session of the Cabinet Council’s Economic Commission held Friday, chaired by the Angolan head of State, JoAPound o Lourenco.

The Session appreciated the proposed notice of the Commissions and expenses of the operations in foreign currency.

Jose de Lima Massano said that the measure results from a work done with the participation of the commercial banks themselves and the Angolan Association of Banks (Abanc).

He said that in addition to the reduction, the BNA also seeks to contribute to a fairer relationship with consumers and to allow the economy to grow continuously in order to improve its business environment.

Massano stated that the National Bank of Angola will keep reducing the rate to better regulate the commissions that charged for transactions in national currency and with the similar sense.
