Brazilian ambassador highlights Angola’s peacemaker role

Luanda – The Brazilian ambassador to Angola, Paulino de Carvalho Neto, on Thursday in Luanda, said Angola has played a crucial role for the pacification of the Southern region of Africa.

The recognition was made during the 196th independence celebration of Brazil marked on September 7, having highlighted the important role played by Angola’s diplomacy and experience in the resolution of conflicts.

As regard to the economic sector, the Brazilian diplomat underscored the multiple initiatives being implemented by the Angolan government to attract investment and improve the business environment in the country, lauding the new laws on private investments and competition.

Paulino de Carvalho Neto added that the relation between the two nations has been renewed in several fronts, without putting apart the historical, cultural and linguistic ties bonding the two countries.

He also spoke of the importance to resume Brazilian companies’ projects financing in Angola, adding that treats have been discussed to make operational the bilateral understanding protocols on credits and guarantees.

Therefore, he said, Angola and Brazil continue cooperating in the education sector, especially on high education and many Angolan students will finish their courses in that America Latin country.
