Campaign tackling hydrocephalus closes with 147 surgeries

Luanda – At least 147 children suffering from the hydrocephalus condition were operated, from October to December this year, in the ambit of a campaign of free surgical interventions, which ended last Tuesday in Luanda.

The referred solidarity campaign was undertaken by the Fomento Bank of Angola (BFA) that donated 20 million kwanzas for the cause.

The initiative took place in the provinces of Luanda, Moxico, Namibe and Cunene.

Speaking to the press, on the fringes of the Solidarity Christmas programme promoted by the Ministry of Territorial Planning and Housing, the director of the Microcephaly Centre of Kifica (Luanda), Mayanda InocAncio, disclosed that the institution intends to transform the place into a free of charge centre to support needy children.
