Children’s event at Lar de Nazare to mark Mandela Day festivities
Luanda – The celebrations of the International Day of Nelson Mandela, marked Tuesday, will have their high point on August 4 during an event with the children of the Shelter Center of Nazare, located in Cacuaco in Luanda, said the South African ambassador to Angola, Fannie Mfana Phakola.
Speaking to ANGOP on Tuesday, the South African Diploma, said that the occasion will be for those present and interested to dedicate 67 minutes of their time To honor Mandela’s deeds in the struggle for racial equality in South Africa.
Mandela Day will be marked by an act of beneficence during which the symbolic delivery of some assets to the children of this center will be done.
The diplomat recalled that in the year 2016, in allusion to the date, the embassy has already visited the same school run by Catholic mothers and donated various food and clothing, as well as delivered an amount that was used to purchase a glacier to store products.
Mandela International Day marks the birth date, 18 July 1918, of the South African hero in the struggle against Apartheid and one of the most respected world leaders.
