Citizens urged to get involved in combat against corruption

Luanda – The combat against corruption and impunity must be a task of all the citizens, since it will bring about major transparency in the management and improvement of private services supply, said on Tuesday, in Luanda, the university lecturer, Wilton Micolo.

The lecturer said so on the fringes of the fourth edition of the Week of Law and International Affairs event, happening at Angola Technical University (UTANGA), being held since Monday under the motto consolidating the institutions to overcome the political and economic challenges of the country.

Speaking to ANGOP, Wilton Micolo said that the fight against corruption and impunity, carried out by the Angolan government, will raise citizens’ awareness about the need to comply with the law, since no one is above it.

“Each one will be fully aware that the law is to be fulfilled and that no one is above the law,” said the university lecturer, who considered a good signal for the Angolan justice, the detention of citizens supposedly involved in crimes, including embezzlement.

The Week of Law and International Affairs aims to exchange ideas on everyday national and international issues bringing together teachers and students.

On Tuesday, the participants discussed The role of public prosecution in the democratic and law-abiding.
