Country needs over 6,000 schools

Luanda – At least 6,371 schools are needed all over the country to end the number of students outside the education system, which in Angola is 1.3 million.

This information was conveyed Friday in Luanda by the director of the Institute for Research and Development of Education (INIDE), Manuel Afonso, while presenting the Angolan education system, moments before the signing of a cooperation agreement between Angola and South Africa.

According to the official, these schools will be reproduced in 57,143 classrooms that can join the current 18,297 schools and a total of 97,459 rooms that this school year are in operation.

He added that the sector controls 10 million students from the beginning to the second cycle of secondary education in the current school year.

The agreement in the field of education foresees the training of teaching, managers and school inspectors, as well as the equivalence of studies and was signed by the ministers of education of Angola and South Africa, Maria CAndida Pereira Teixeira and Angie Motshekga , respectively.
