CPLP Games: Angolan Regina Dumbo wins two gold medals

Luanda – The Angolan visually impaired sprinter, Regina Dumbo, won two gold medals in adapted athletics 100 and 400 ms of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) Games taking place in SAPound o Tome e Principe.

The 19-year old class T11 athlete, who participates for the first time in CPLP Games, beat the competition by recording 14s in 100 m and 1:13sec, 14dec in 400 m.

In men’s race, SebastiAPound o Mussunda won silver medal in 400 m ( class T11) with time set 1:11s,10dec, while Augusto Jongolo won bronze medal in 100 m (class T12) with time of 13sec, 14 dec.

Angola is participating in this competition with the goal of reaching top position in the general standings, or improve the third place recorded in 2016.

Angolan delegation is comprised by several teams namely men’s football, women’s basketball 3×3, athletics group, beach volleyball and taekwondo

The competition counts on the participation of 690 athletes from SAPound o Tome e Principe, Angola, Portugal, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, East Timor and the debutant Guinea Equatorial.
