Cruise ship with 212 tourists visits Luanda

Luanda – A cruise ship, with 212 tourists of 12 nationalities on board, docked on Tuesday (26) at the Port of Luanda, in an action aimed at placing Angolan ports on the international route of cruise ships.

From the 212 tourists from the Aegean Odissey, which arrived in Luanda after docking in several ports in 14 countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Oman, India, Thailand, Singapore, Mauritius, South Africa, Namibia, among others, 187 participated in the tourist circuit provided by TravelGest.

This is the second cruise ship that docks Angola in less than a month this year, with the first docking at the Port of Luanda on 05 May (March), with 350 tourists on board.

This is the thirty-seventh cruise ship to dock Angola, since October 2012, in an initiative of the tourism, management and services company TravelGest, Angolan Travel and Tourism Agency, in the scope of promoting national tourism.

During six hours in Luanda, tourists visited different tourist attractions, such as Memorial Agostinho Neto, museums and churches, the Iron Palace, the Statue of the Unknown Soldier, among other places of tourist interest in the Angolan capital.

The ship, capable of carrying 380 tourists and 180 crew members on board, is en route from December 9, 2018 and ends on April 13 in the port of Malaga, in the south of Spain, for a period of 125 days.
