Culture Ministry wants universities to research on Angola’s heritage

Luanda – The Secretary of State for Culture, Maria da Piedade de Jesus, on Wednesday in southern Huila province, called on universities to conduct researches on the Angolan historical cultural heritage.

The fact aims at contributing to the recovery and maintenance process of the country’s historical cultural heritage as well as the elaboration of scientific research projects to increase knowledge about this issue.

The official made the appeal during the opening ceremony of the 28th meeting of the Association of Portuguese Speaking Universities running under the motto Historical Heritage of Lusophone Space, Science, Art and Culture.

The event, which is being run at the Angola’s Mandume ya Ndemufayo University, expects to profit from the experience of other higher education institutions in the research field so as to successfully meet the challenge .

The event is also discussing issues concerning the historical, scientific, linguistic, cultural and artistic heritage of the Portuguese speaking countries.
