Election2017: UNITA prioritises retrieval of national identity

Lubango – The retrieval of the national identity to enable a more inclusive and participative governance is among the main opposition UNITA party’s governing programme priorties, should it win the forthcoming 23 August election.

This was announced Wednesday in Lubango, southern Huila province, by UNITA leader and presidential candidate, Isaias Samakuva.

The politician was peaking at a meeting with members of the Lubango student community meant for the presentation of his party’s governing programme.

Isaias Samakuva mentioned as another priority for his organisation the affirmation of Angola as a valid nation in the context of the nations, with the basic social services close to the communities.

According to him, the solution to some problems facing the country requires a national plan of emergency with medium and short term approaches.

UNITA leader is in Huila province since Tuesday for a three day tour covering the municipalities of Matala and Caluquembe. It is the country’s second political party with 32 members in Parliament.
