Elections 2022: Second Summary of the eighth day of campaign

Luanda – The parties competing for the fifth general elections in Angola Sunday entered their eighth day of the campaign with focus on door-to-door voting, marches and mass political event across the country.

PHA

In the province of Huambo, the PHA mobilized the voters in the municipalities of Bailundo and Caála, explaining its governance programme, should it win the elections on 24 August.

The president of the Humanist Party of Angola (PHA), Bela Malaquias, defended Saturday in Menongue, Cuando Cubango province, the need to humanize all social services, for the benefit of the population.

For the candidate running for the general elections, at this time, there is every need to grant a salary pension (…) to all those in need, to give them greater human dignity.

P-NJANGO

The Nationalist Party for Justice in Angola (P-NJANGO) performed door-to-door campaigns in Luanda, in the municipalities of Belas, Kilamba Kiaxi and Talatona.

P-NJANGO intends to establish in the health sector a national integrated management system and regional hospitals in the North, South, East of the country.

UNITA

In Bié province, the UNITA party mobilized on Sunday the voters of this region, where its leader is expected to hold on Monday a rally to explain the strengths of its governance programme.

UNITA’s candidate for President of the Republic, Adalberto Costa Júnior, reiterated his commitment to implement local authorities in Angola, if his party wins the elections on 24 August.

He said that it is one of the central subjects of his party’s government programme, which also includes the fight against corruption and the promotion of education, from primary to university.

FNLA

The National Liberation Front of Angola (FNLA) promised on Saturday the creation of re-education centers to assist disadvantaged, physically handicapped children, with mental disorders, delinquents, abandoned, victims of abuse and sexual abuse, if it wins the general elections on 24 August.

CASA-CE

The Broad Convergence for the Salvation of Angola – Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE) promoted in the province of Zaire a march and mass political event.

On Saturday, CASA-CE defended the implementation of municipal elections in the country, as they help to solve the problems of Angolans.

According to the deputy executive secretary of CASA-CE, Osvaldo Ntembo, who was speaking during the coalition’s airtime on National Radio of Angola (RNA), his governance programme gives priority to municipal elections as they allow for the reduction of regional differences.

PRS

The leader of the Social Renewal Party (PRS), Benedito Daniel, took advantage of the day to continue trying to convince the voters of Moxico province, in mass activity, to pass on the message contained his governance programme.

The PRS promised on Saturday in Luanda to reinforce the struggle of Angolan women for gender equality.

APN

The National Patriotic Alliance (APN) worked in the province of Zaire on Sunday, where it held a mass event to capture votes in that region.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the vice-president of the National Patriotic Alliance (APN), Noé Francisco Dias Mateus, reiterated his party’s commitment to the involvement of youth in the country’s policies, as they constitute the majority of the Angolan population.

Speaking at a political event in the Cassequel do Buraco neighborhood, in the Maianga district, Luanda province, he argued that Angola is a young country and youth must be taken into account in national political decisions.

MPLA

The MPLA, on the other hand, sought to attract the attention of the electorate on Sunday, with the promotion of a march through the streets of Huambo city and the holding of recreational activities among militants, friends and party sympathizers.

In Cuanhama, Cunene province, the MPLA municipal secretary, José Felisberto Kalomo, reiterated his party’s commitment to continue to develop actions aimed at promoting the social well-being of the population.

Speaking at a mass political rally in the town of Onangwe, 175 kilometers from Ondjiva, the politician said that the MPLA’s governance commitment is to satisfy the population’s needs, in order to once again earn the trust of citizens.
