ERCA focusing on creating journalist ethics commission, professional badge

Luanda – The Angolan Media Regulatory Body (ERCA) is convinced that in the initial months of the year 2019 Angola will institute a Commission on Journalist Ethics and Professional Badge, in view of the general assembly that is to take place.

This was manifested last Thursday, in Luanda, by the ERCA chairman, Adelino Marques de Almeida, in the ambit of a conference that analysed the regulation for the Radio-electrical spectrum and Self Regulation.

To him, there is really a need to institutionalise the mentioned commission, since that is a fundamental instrument which assists self regulatory moves in the journalistic activity.

He also announced that soon the media associations will be invited to provide contributions regarding ethical issues in journalism and the professional badge, which will then be submitted to the general assembly.

The conference was attended by the Media national director, Rui Vasco, university lecturers, ERCA members, media professionals and other guests.
